2 Soldiers, 13 Boko Haram Insurgents Die In Battle
Two soldiers and 13 Boko Haram insurgents died when troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole attacked the terrorists in parts of Borno and Adamawa States.
The army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman said that 12 of the insurgents were killed in an ambush at Miyanti-Banki junction in Borno while another one was killed at Kafin Hausa in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa.
Usman added that at Dukje-Mada road near Gulumba Gana village, the troops neutralized quite a number of the terrorists.
However, two (2) soldiers accidentally stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) buried and died while four others sustained injuries.
“The remains of the gallant soldiers and the wounded have been evacuated to Maiduguri,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Operation Lafiya Dole were able to recover 30 bags of flour, 18 bicycles, two bags of salt, one bag of groundnut, two baskets of kola nut and five torch light from the insurgents.
The operation also recovered one carton of washing soap, two packets of sweet, two packets of Maggi cubes, five packets of cold patch, two pairs of bathroom slippers, two packets of yeasts and four packets of Vedan.
Also recovered were one AK-47 rifle with registration number 02527 MTD, magazine. Improvised Explosive Devices and nine primed cylinders.
