2018 Africa Youth Games: Sunmisola Balogun Attributes Success To Hard Work
Sunmisola Balogun, a gold medalist in wrestling at the just-concluded Africa Youth Games (AYG) in Algiers, on Wednesday attributed her victory to hard work and focus.
Balogun said in Ibadan, Oyo State that she went to the tournament determined to win a medal.
The 16-year-old cadet wrestler said she was always happy whenever she mounted the podium to raise Nigeria’s flag in competitions.
The Ondo-State based wrestler, however, thanked the Nigeria Wrestling Federation for supporting and encouraging cadet wrestlers.
Meanwhile, reports say KAA Gent have declared Super Eagles winger Moses Simon surplus to requirements this season, meaning he must find a new team before the close of the transfer window or rot in the reserves.
Het Laatste Nieuws says Simon is no longer needed in Gent’s first team which contains 38 players including the not yet departed Ricardo Avila.
The truth is that the former AS Trencin star is the architect of his own misfortune as he had earlier approached Gent he wanted to be transferred this summer and the club’s higher-ups had assured him they won’t be a spoilsport.
With his absence at the 2018 World Cup due to injury, he is lacking genuine suitors despite reports linking him with English Premier League and German teams.
