2018 National Convention: APC Promises Free, Fair Exercise
The Governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi has promised that the All Progressives Congress, APC will conduct a free, fair and credible national convention on June the twenty-third.
The Governor who is the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee of the Twenty Eighteen National Convention said this during a Press Conference in Abuja on Thursday.
He told journalists that the party is maintaining the current zoning arrangement.
The Party also said it has introduced measures to ensure adequate representation for special interest groups such as women, youths and people with disabilities.
The former Governor of Edo State, Mr Adams Oshiomole has declared his intention to contest for the party national chairman.
The incumbent chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has not declared his interest, after President Muhammadu Buhari had declared as illegal the tenure elongation as proposed by the party’s National Working Committee.
The party had its states congress last week where some parallel officials emerged. This is one thing it must guard against as it holds the national congress in about three weeks time.
