2019 Presidency: Watch Your Words – Sheriff Tells Makarfi
Ali Modu Sheriff, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sent a word of warning to factional leader of the party Ahmed Makarfi, against smearing his name and integrity with utterances that have to do with the presidential elections in 2019.
He gave this warning at the national headquarters of the party in the FCT Abuja as he received a delegation of the party from Zamfara state.
Sheriff was reacting to reports from Makarfi where he stated that he (Sheriff) wants to conduct a convention that will be doctored to ensure that he emerges as the presidential candidate of the PDP for the 2019 elections which is his ultimate goal.
But the national chairman told the delegates who paid the courtesy call on him that he is not an ambitious person unlike some of his friends.
He reacted to the claims that he is planning to be president by saying that the President of Nigeria is decided by God and the people.
He stated thereafter that Makarfi should desist from using his name in a smear campaign as he stated that he had called Makarfi that morning.
