5-year-Old Girl ‘Aishat Muyideen’, Kidnapped, Sold For N60, 000
A five year-old-girl, Aishat Muyideen was abducted by a 57-year-old herbalist, Tunde Ajibolorunsoro, aka professor and sold for N60, 000 in Meiran area of Lagos.
The state Police Command has since arrested the herbalist and his accomplice as the investigation continues.
The suspect sold the girl to his neighbour, one Tajudeen Makanjuola, who is also a herbalist, for N60,000, the police said.
According to the investigation, Aisha’s father, Mr. Yekini Muyideen, reported the case of his missing daughter to the police at the Meiran division on September 27, 2017.
Following a tipoff, the police apprehended the herbalist Ajibolorunsoro, who confessed that he actually abducted the child and sold her to a neighbour herbalist for N60, 000.
The state Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi, stated that professor led police operatives to arrest Makanjuola.
Investigation showed that the herbalists were specialists in kidnapping and selling of children until their arrest.
However, speaking to our correspondent, the suspect, Ajibolorunsoro said he had never involved in a kidnapping.
He said, “I did not kidnap the girl. I was tortured by the police to confess to the sin I never committed.
Meanwhile, his accomplice popularly known as “Oluwo” said he did not know anything about the kidnapped child, adding that he was arrested because Ajibolorunsoro was forced to tell lies to the police.
