A Man ‘Hyacinth Ilo’ Kills Son Over Cashew Nuts In Enugu
A 60-year-old man, Hyacinth Ilo has killed his son, Izuckhukwu Ilo over the ownership of Cashew Nuts at Obinetiti Isikwe Achi in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to findings, the man and his son had laid claim to the Cashew Nuts, which later led to an argument between them on Wednesday.
“They were on the farm when the argument led to a serious brawl, which made the father hit a big stick on his son’s head,” a source said.
The boy slumped and died on the spot.
In order to cover up his crime, the alleged killer father horridly dug a shallow grave to bury the remains of his son.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, said that the boy, Izuckhukwu was killed for contesting with his father over the ownership of Cashew Nuts.
Izuchukwu had an argument with the father and the man hit him with a stick. He died instantly,” the Police PRO said.
He added: “On noticing that he has died, the father went further to bury him in a shallow grave. “Investigations have commenced into the incident as the suspect, who has been nabbed, is helping the Police.”
