A Section Of Apapa-Wharf Road’ll Be Opened This Month – FG
A section of the Apapa-Wharf Road will be opened by the middle of this month, the Director of Highways, South-West, Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Emmanuel Adeoye, has said.
The project, which is being jointly financed by the Dangote Industries, Flour Mills Nigeria and the Federal Government, according to Adeoye is very germane now and will be delivered soon.
He noted that though there were challenges, the project would be completed by the end of June to ease traffic on the axis.
Adeoye noted that the project is about 60 percent completed, adding that by the middle of March a section of it would be opened for use.
Speaking at the site after his inspection tour, Adeoye said that the project is being done in a way to make it maintenance free. “That is why we are constructing drainage with it. All the challenges that we faced initially have been surmounted and work is going on smoothly now,” he said.
Adeoye said he was really satisfied with the quality of all the materials used for the construction of the road, also stated that it would be properly maintained.
The Project Manager, AG Dangote Construction Company, Mr Jimoh Tunde, said the pace of work was affected by the challenges earlier witnessed on the project.
