Abducted Italian Priest ‘Maurizio Pallu’ Regains Freedom
An Italian priest Maurizio Pallu who was kidnapped at a Catholic Church, in Edo by unknown assailants has regained freedom, our correspondent has gathered.
Meanwhile, the four British Nationals kidnapped by militants in Delta State are yet to regain their freedom.
According to the police report, the Britons provided free medical care for some communities in Delta state before they were kidnapped by the gunmen.
Leaders and elders of the Burutu Area of Delta State also told our correspondent that the Britons also engaged in some religious activities in some communities.
The spokesman for Delta State Police, Andrew Aniamaka said that the police had been working on how to free the Britons from their abductors.
He said the kidnappers had not contacted the families of their victims perhaps to demand ransom.
Concerning the priest that had regained his freedom, the Edo State Police Command did not disclose whether the abductors collected ransom or not.
Meanwhile, Maurizio Pallu had since reunited with his church and family, according to findings.
Kidnappers’ activities are gradually returning to Niger Delta Region after a break in the last few years.
