Abia State Governor’s Chief of Staff, Chijioke Nwakodo Dies In London
The Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Mr. Chijioke Nwakodo has been reportedly dead.
His younger brother, Mr. Obidike Nwakodo told News Agency of Nigeria on Friday.
He said Nwakodo, 56, died in a London hospital on Thursday evening, and that the hospital communicated the news of his death to the family in Umuahia, capital of Abia State.
The brother Obidike said that the family would soon convey the sad news to the governor.
Nwakodo was born March 29, 1961 and appointed Chief of Staff to the governor on June 3, 2015.
He was a successful businessman before venturing into politics where he became the Chief of Staff to the governor.
He was a one-time chairman of Umuahia North Local Government Area between 1999 and 2002. His supporters nicknamed him “Zero allocation.”
Before his appointment as the Chief of Staff to Ikpeazu, the late politician served as the Chief Economic Adviser to the former Governor of the state Theodore Orji.
