Ahmed Musa Pledges to Replicate Nwakwo Kanu at English Premiership League

Super Eagles forward and newly signed Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa has wished he could replicate the performance of the football legend, Nwakwo Kanu at English Premiership League.

He told journalists after completing his Leicester record signing of £16m from CSKA Moscow where he scored 17 goals to top the Russian League.

He described Kanu as a legend and a senior colleague who had advised him to move to Leicester and that the legend’s feat in premiership had inspired him to join the premiership side from Russia.

He said, “I’m going to do whatever it takes to become a legend like Kanu.”

According to him, most Nigerians footballers prefer to play in premiership because of the quality the league had offered great Nigeria footballers like Nwakwo Kanu, Austin Okocha, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and others.

“I took advice from my friend Kanu. He told me a lot about England and Leicester and said it would be a good move for me.

Kanu played for Arsenal and won many laurels including two premiership league and tow FA Cups.

He played down his size as a disadvantage when compared to that of Kanu who is a bit taller and more skillful.

He said, “My size is not a demerit. I have proved myself that I can do it. Though I will have to work harder, I will be ready to give my best to excel.”
