Akinwunmi Ambode Fulfills N20m Pledge To Super Eagles
The Lagos State Governor Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has fulfilled his promise of N20 million to the Super Eagles Team B, that won silver at the 2018 African Nations Championships, CHAN in Morocco.
The Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, LSSC, Kweku Tandoh disclosed this in a press statement made available to our correspondent by its Head of Public Affairs, Titi Oshodi.
It said that the official presentation of the cheque to the team would take place soon.
Recalled that Ambode was in Morocco to watch the final match where he pledged to reward the team for their exemplary performance in spite of all odds.
“The gesture by the sports-loving Ambode is commendable and has once again demonstrated his passion and unwavering commitment to sports development not only in Lagos State but in Nigeria as a whole,” the statement read.
“Last year the governor supported the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC of Lagos for their 2018 CAF Champions League campaign with a donation of N50 million.
