APC Defectors May Return
There are indications that the All Progressives Congress senators and federal lawmakers that defected to the Peoples Democratic Party may return as negotiations are going on.
The Senate leader, Ahmad Lawan told the journalists that the APC caucus at the Senate was not relenting and would ensure that those who decamped on Tuesday are brought back.
No fewer than 15 senators decamped while 36 members of the House of Representatives from the APC also left for PDP and other political parties.
When the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki was reading the names of defectors on Tuesday at the plenary, Lawan was mentioned but he declined.
Senator Ahmed Lawan says APC is still in the Majority with 52 lawmakers as he urged members to remain calm.
This is in contrary to the new figures that put APC at 45 and PDP at 64 on Tuesday.
However, Lawan said that the APC caucus would work to get the defectors back to the party.
Responding to if Saraki has defected or not, Senator Lawan said the President of the Senate will have to speak for himself what party he belongs to.
Meanwhile, Senators Hope Uzodinma and Raji Rasaq both confirmed defection from PDP to APC on Tuesday.
