APC Disqualifies Party Agents, Holds Ekiti Guber Primaries On Friday
The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has disqualified all party agents that partook in the last governorship primaries in Ekiti State.
The party also cancelled the results of the unconcluded primaries on Saturday, adding that a fresh poll would take place on Friday to produce a candidate for the party.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said this at a news conference in Abuja as he noted that the secretary for the election committee had also been removed.
Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura-led panel submitted the report of the Ekiti primaries, which the NWC worked, Abdullahi said.
The party agents that were disqualified included Oladele Ademola Samuel, Rotimi Faleye, Kayode Afolabi, Ayodele Omowaye, Oyetunde Ojo, Akintade Olayisade and Temitope Adewumi.
Meanwhile, three national leaders of the party met with the aspirants on Tuesday and asked them to embrace peace.
The leaders included the former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, his counterparts for Osun, Chief Bisi Akande and Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba.
They did not disclose the outcome of the meeting but assured journalists that the primaries would be peaceful on Friday and that a good candidate would emerge.
