APC Leader In Edo Shot Dead By Gunmen

A leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State, Mr Samson Sedi has been shot dead by unknown gunmen.

 

The killers carried out the dastard act in Jattu, the Etsako West Local Government Area of the state late Wednesday.

 

Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo, said that the police got the information that the man was killed at an NNPC mega station in Jattu.

 

Sedi who was also known as “Power Remain,” according to sources, was attacked by a gang of armed robbers but the state police commissioner said that it had not be concluded that they were armed robbers.

 

“It is being investigated as a case of murder as the victim was not dispossessed of his belongings,” Kokumo noted.

 

The police commissioner said, “We are investigating a murder case. We are not investigating an armed robbery. Nobody was dispossessed in this particular case.

 

Kokumo promised that the police would ensure that the culprits were apprehended as all necessary steps had been taken to fish them out.

 

Meanwhile, the state Governor Godwin Obaseki has described the killing as shocking as he urged the police to produce the killers.

 

Obaseki, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, also ordered the arrest and prosecution of the killers.
