The Academic Staff Unions of Universities, Lagos State Universities chapter, has called on the Governing Council of the university to prosecute all those involved in atrocities under the immediate past vice chancellor Prof. John Oladapo Obafunwa.

According to the union, it would serve as a prevention measure to others with such motive in future.

At a briefing in LASU Thursday, the union charged the Council to make public several reports by the unions bordering on double standards, nepotism and imbalance in promotion and appointments embarked upon by Obafunwa and his cohorts. This is in addition to urging government to replace the union’s vehicles of NASU and SSANU damaged by government during the March 16 crisis.

Chairman of ASUU-LASU Adekunle, Idris said the Council has reissued his certificate and that of one Mufutau Yussuf which were withdrawn by Obafubnwa earlier in the year. He said the new certificate returned to him on Thursday now reads: ‘Business Administration’ as against ‘Business Administration (Marketing)’ which was signed by Obafunwa in 2012.
