Between Cool Osinbajo and Flamboyant Kyari
ElevateNews takes a look at the larger than life role of Abba Kyari in
From all indications, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari is a de-facto Nigeria Commander-In
Kyari must have succeeded to a certain extent in the plan to cut off the star boy in this government, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo from the scheme of things.
Soon the social investment idea of Osinbajo that gave birth to
Presently, Osinbajo has been relieved of his leadership of the economic team, following the creation of the Economic Advisory Council by Buhari.
Besides, Osinbajo will have to seek approval from Buhari before taking any decision on the agencies and parastatals he is supervising.
He is being sidelined because he once justified the action of the sacked Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita for speaking the truth when former Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Pension Reform, Abdulrasheed Maina was illegally reinstated in the civil service.
Kyari and the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami knew much about the reinstatement of Maina. Oyo-Ita revealed this secret and never left government scot
She opened up at the Federal Executive Council when Kyari attacked her, urging the vice president Osinbajo to intervene. The vice president, whom according to investigations had been briefed by Oyo-Ita earlier about the illegality of Kyari and Malami, pretended as if he did not know what was going on because of Buhari’s body language.
He has been loyal all the while but it seems his loyalty is being put on the trial now that the mafia is set to render him useless.
Today, Oyo-Ita has been sacked by Kyari and by extension Buhari while Osinbajo has been shoved aside by the cabal.
The only person who can save Osinbajo is his boss, Buhari but this is a president whom himself takes briefs from Kyari and those who are closer to him. It is obvious that Buhari has no capacity to interpret economic data, not to talk
Kyari’s economic knowledge as a former banker has played out here and it is certain that the new EAC will be reporting to Kyari whom in turn will brief Buhari. Kyari, to me, is more or less the Nigeria president for now.
As a matter of fact, no minister has access to Buhari again without passing through Kyari. He oversees the working of the ministries and the ministers. He queried the Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service, Babatunde Fowler sometime ago.
Using his economic knowledge and because of his personal agenda, he ensures the rise in the Value Added Tax from 5 per cent to 7.5 per cent. That is how powerful Kyari has grown to be in this administration. He looks gentle, always loves to stand beside Buhari to take pictures whenever there are visitors in Aso Rock but he is also flamboyant.
