Boko Haram Commander ‘Auwal Ismaeela’ Surrenders To Nigerian Army
Ex-terrorist leader, Auwal Ismaeela has surrendered himself to the Nigerian Army, saying he regrets the crime he has committed against humanity.
Ismaeela who has given his words to the military to reveal the hideouts of other terrorist leaders said that most of his actions in the past were contrary to Islamic injunctions.
Calling on other commanders of the terrorist group to surrender, Ismaeela disclosed that he was a member of the group that abducted the Chibok Schoolgirls.
As he put it, “Myself and Abu Hafsat, a Boko Haram commander, led other squads to abduct the Chibok girls. “We led the operations to invade Gwoza, Bama, Limankara mobile barrack, Bita, Bosso, Madagali, Chibok, Pulka, Firgi, and Mubi.”
He also stated that he joined four other commanders to kill some students in 2014 and also abducted a lady who later had two babies for him while they were in Sambisa Forest.
“The name of the lady is Maryam. I was brainwashed to commit all these atrocities and I regret all what I had done,” he lamented.
He spoke about an attack on Konduga, where he led some members of Boko Haram to kill some residents.
He said that he lost one of his legs during the attack as the Nigerian troops launched a counter attack against the terrorists in the area.
