Boko Haram: Hypocrisy of Adesina In The Killing of Andimi

By  |

ElevateNews takes a look at the reaction of the Special Adviser to Presidential Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina to the comment of the Christian Association of Nigeria on the murder of CAN Chairman in Michika Lawan Andimi.

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina is doing a great job to exonerate his boss in the murder of the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Lawan Andimi by Boko Haram insurgents.

The former Editor of the Sun Newspaper that was a specialist in sensational journalism is now an apostle of developmental journalism that will do anything to paint his boss as holy and innocent as insecurity ravages the country.

I leant that Adesina is a pastor in Four Square Church, making him an automatic member of CAN by all standards but today he does not believe in CAN anymore just because the body has attacked the president’s ineptness in the face of killings across the country.

CAN has urged Buhari to sack all the service chiefs for failing to stop Boko Haram and other threats from bandits and kidnappers. The body accused the president of nepotism and religious favouritism that had led to the killing of many Christians but Adesina would not like to hear this as he descended on the Christian body to defend his boss.

The body asked Buhari to purge himself of the allegations of favouritism but Adesina replied that it is the CAN that must purge himself not the President.

Andimi has passed away. He was beheaded because the CAN could not release the ransom to Boko Haram. The terrorists had demanded for N50 million but later jacked it up to N800 million, which CAN could not afford.

He died with his Christian faith intact as explained by his wife. “Our happiness is that my husband did not renounce his Christian faith in the face of death. He knew where he was going after death.”

Just as Andimi believed so much that he would make a heaven for dying for Jesus Christ so is his killer, the Boko Haram terrorist also believes his act of murder would qualify him for Aljana.

But for Adesina who is defending the president and CAN who is defending religion, where is their place, heaven or hell? This is the most difficult time for a Christian to speak for a Muslim. Not even when the media aide is not just a Christian but a leader in the body of Christ.

Does it mean that CAN can never be right whenever it castigates the president, going by Adesina’s defence of his boss? He said that Boko Haram had killed Andimi not because the cleric was a Christian but because the terrorists were out to kill or abduct anybody to get a ransom.

Even at this, should the president be exonerated over the state of insecurity in the country? Our man just started a column on Facebook where he wrote to defend the president. I advise that he drops the idea because it will nail him and his boss. His write-up speaks louder of hypocrisy.
