Boko Haram Leader Shekau Expresses Frustration In New Video

The Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has expressed his frustration in a new video, in which he said he would prefer to die now and go to paradise.

The Nigerian Army has captured many of his allies and killed thousands of the insurgents in the last few months.

Shekau said in the 10 minutes video released on Wednesday that the calamity that had befallen him had become unbearable and would prefer to die and go to paradise now.

As he put it, “I am tired of this calamity; it is better I die and go to rest in paradise,”

Shekau who spoke in the Hausa Language pleaded with his non-combatant members across the country to pick up arms and help him fight till he drops dead.

He also debunked the claim that his groups had been sent out of Sambisa Forest by the Nigerian troops as false, adding that they are still living in the wood.

“I still control Sambisa. It is my territory,” he said.

Operation Lafiya Dole has been fighting against the terrorists in the last two years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

The government has also earmarked $1 billion from excess crude oil to fight the insurgency.
