Boko Haram Releases Three UNIMAID Lecturers
The Boko Haram terrorists have released the three abducted lecturers of the University of Maiduguri, Borno State.
The Director-General of the Department of State Service, Lawal Daura disclosed this on Saturday, adding that they would soon be presented to President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said 10 other women abducted by the insurgents were also released alongside the lecturers after a lot of negotiation.
According to him, the 13 rescued Nigerians were flown to Abuja for President Muhammadu Buhari to welcome them.
The lecturers were abducted at the university campus last year while the 10 women were abducted when the terrorists attacked army patrol vehicle in Borno last year.
Daura stated that a team of psychologist and doctors would follow the lecturers to Abuja so that they could attend to their medical condition.
Meanwhile, the presidency has expressed joy over the release of the abducted lecturers and 10 others as it urged the DSS to do more to rescue the remaining Chibok schoolgirls.
The Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said this in a statement made available to our correspondent.
