“Bring Back Diezani” Protesters Storm EFCC In Abuja
Scores of protesters under “#OurMumuDonDo” have stormed the Headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja, calling for the repatriation of Diezani Allison-Madueke.
Led by Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, the protesters demanded from EFCC the whereabouts of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Allison-Madueke.
They called on the government to work on the repatriation of the woman who had been alleged of various offences bordering on money laundering and illegal acquisition of properties.
Last week the Federal Government signed repatriation treaty with the government of the United Arab Emirate with the plan to seize some Dubai properties belonging to some Nigerian politicians, including Allison-Madueke.
The minister was charged for money laundering in the United Kingdom a few months ago where she had appeared in court twice.
A report showed that the ex-minister was suffering from cancer and had been passing through serious medicals for almost two years.
Two weeks ago “OurMumuDonDo” staged a protest asking President Muhammadu Buhari to come back to Nigeria from UK where he was on medical vacation or lose his seat.
They were dispersed by the police while their leader was manhandled by the policemen.
