Buhari Now Operates From His Office
President Muhammadu Buhari is now operating from his office at the Presidential Villa after 81 days that he returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.
The president presided over an Armed Forces Council meeting in the office and had been working from there since Thursday.
Buhari spent over 100 days during his medical holiday in the United Kingdom but could not resume at the office due to rodent invasion.
The president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said at the time that the office would need serious renovation because rodents had destroyed the furniture and Air-conditioning units in the office.
Since then, Mr President had been working from one of the offices in his official residence until yesterday.
Our correspondent reported that Buhari on Thursday entered the office for the first time since he returned to the country.
President Buhari actually inaugurated the Armed Forces Council in his office on Thursday. It was also observed that some files were moved from the president’s residence to the office.
Before now, the Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina had said what mattered most was that the president was working.
He said, “There shouldn’t be any noise about whether the president operates from office or home.”
