Buhari Talks Tough Against Killer Herdsmen
President Muhammadu Buhari has called on security operatives to arrest any herdsman carrying arms.
He gave this order in Lafia, Nasarawa State where he had gone to commission some projects by the state government.
The president said that the Federal Government would not tolerate killings anywhere in the country anymore and that anybody arrested with arms would be prosecuted.
Buhari explained that the government was working round the clock to provide adequate security for the citizens, adding that more security operatives had been deployed in crisis area to provide the needed peace.
While commiserating with families of those who lost their lives to suspected herdsmen, the president assured the citizens that the government had also earmarked more resources to the affected areas to stem the activities of hoodlums.
Mr Buhari was of the view that militia had mixed with peace-loving herdsmen to perpetrate evils in some parts of the country.
“The government will fish them out. I can only appeal to Nigerians not to engage in reprisal attack so as not to shoot up the rate of attacks across the country,” he said.
“I am very sure that those behind the crime will be fish out and peace will reign supreme in the affected area.”
