Buhari’s Govt Is Out Of Tune – Duke
Former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is out of tune with the reality on ground.
He said this as he reiterated his commitment with his presidential ambition, adding that he would be a better president than Buhari.
He described Buhari’s administration of being too steep and disconnected from the young Nigerians who would easily make things happen.
He said, “I see a leadership that is steeped in the past; that has refused to evolve with a nation that is predominantly a nation of young aspiring people and still doing things the way they were done many years ago and did not work.”
He stated that the current government had failed to provide the necessary tools and infrastructure to make the young excel but rather it had disconnected itself from the youths.
“When a president tags the youths of the nation as lazy, then something is wrong somewhere. There is a disconnect and the need to quickly address it,” Duke said.
According to him, the government ought to build institutions to curb corruption instead of fighting against perceived corrupt people.
The former governor had earlier declared his intention to run for the presidency earlier this week.
