CAF CONFEDERATION CUP – Impressive Enyimba Grab Away Win Against Djoliba

Enyimba boosted their chances of making it to the quarter-final stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after beating their hosts Djoliba of Mali 1-0 in their Group C encounter at the Modibo Keita Stadium, Bamako on Sunday.

The People’s Elephant were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute after Sunday Adetunji who recently linked up with the club from local rivals, Abia Warriors was hacked down in the box by a Djoliba defender.

Ghanaian midfielder, Farouk Mohammed coolly slotted the ball into the net to hand his side all three points in the game.

Usman Abdallah’s men now occupy the second position in the group with nine points same as Congo’s CARA Brazzaville who edged out Williamsville Athletic Club of Ivory Coast 3-1 earlier on Sunday.

The Aba giants will host CARA Brazzaville in their final group game at the newly Enyimba International Stadium on August 29.
