CRISTIANO RONALDO TO HAVE AIRPORT NAMED AFTER HIM

Portugal’s Euro winning captain and Real Madrid talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo is to have an airport named after him following his exploits in France.

The superstar footballer already has a bronze statue, a museum and a hotel named after him in Funchal, his birthplace the capital of Madeira.

The locals have taken it a notch higher with plans to name the international airport in Madeira, Portugal after the footballer.

Miguel Albuquerque, the President of Madeira, confirmed to newsmen on Friday that the Island’s main international airport will be renamed the Madeira Cristiano Ronaldo airport.

The president said that the honor is in recognition of his services to the region by his profile that has attracted a lot of attention to his birthplace.
