Dead Or Alive, Produce My Accusers , Melaye Tells Police
Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West has called on the state Police Command to produce his accusers dead or alive.
He said this at the floor of the Senate on Wednesday as he threatened to sue the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris for allowing the criminal suspects to escape from the police cell.
The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State, Ali Janga said at a news conference on Wednesday that the six suspects that indicted Melaye in arms deal escaped from the cell.
He also declared Melaye and the escaped suspects wanted.
Angered by the scenario, Melaye stated that he was not on the run but that the police must produce the accusers dead or alive.
On Wednesday, after the plenary, Melaye who was declared wanted by the police was escorted by his security aides, all of them, including the policemen into his car as he drove away from the National Assembly Complex.
However, the Inspector General of Police had ordered the immediate removal of the state commissioner of police, Janga.
Idris said that he is not happy with the complicity and conspiracy of the police in the case of illegal possession of arms by the suspects and their escape.
He replaced Janga with CP Sunday Ogbu, the Commissioner of Police Federal Operation, Police Force Headquarters, Abuja with immediate effect.
