Declare Buhari Incapable, Fayose Tells FEC
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has called on the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to declare President Muhammadu Buhari incapable due to his ill health.
Fayose who once said that Buhari is on life support machine in a London Hospital gave the advice in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.
He said it is high time the FEC invoked Section 144 of the 1999 Constitution and declare Buhari incapable of continuing in office.
According to Fayose, President Buhari’s state of health is bad and the ruling party, APC together with some cabals in the presidency are not sure whether to bring the president in from London or not.
He stated that Nigerians have the rights to know the state of health of the president and the kind of ailment is suffering from.
As he put it, “For a president who has spent 113 days out of 191 days this year outside the country due to ill health. I think it is high time for Section 144 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to be invoked.”
Reacting, a former Majority Leader, Senator Mohammed Ndume kicked against revealing the president’s health status as it might affect the security of the nation.
He said, “It is a security matter and Buhari is just one member of the presidency. His absence has not in any way affected governance. There is no vacuum in government.”
