Diezani Allison-Madueke To Forfeit £28m Jewellery To FG – EFCC
The former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke may forfeit her £28m jewellery to the Federal Government.
A senior official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC told our correspondent, adding that experts had valued the jewellery within that amount.
The official of the anti-graft agency said that the pieces of jewellery were found in one of the properties illegally acquired by the former minister in Abuja.
He said that the pieces of jewellery were kept in a safe compartment in the house but was recovered by the operative of the EFCC.
According to him, Nigerians will soon be invited to come and see what a single Nigerian minister had acquired in the name of serving the country.
Asked where she got the money to acquire the diamond, silver and gold pieces of jewellery, the former minister said it was a gift from friends.
“You have not seen anything in this country about the number of looters and what they have looted. Soon a book will be open to show the list of looters,” the source said.
