Don’t Write Letter Again, Amosun Tells Obasanjo
Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has urged former President Olusegun Obasanjo to stop writing letters to his successors as he grows in age.
Amosun made this call as he joined hundreds of personalities to celebrate Obasanjo’s 81st birthday on Monday 5, 2018 at the Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Amosun wishes that Obasanjo lives till 100 years and then stop writing letters. He said, “Baba is a patriotic Nigerian and will do anything to move the country forward. However, he is not growing younger. Baba, you are not growing younger and I will advise you stop writing letters.”
Obasanjo is fond of writing letters to Nigerian leaders to advise on policies when things are not going well.
Amosun noted that the history of Nigeria and Africa would not be complete without the mention of Obasanjo whose role to lift the continent is immeasurable.
At the occasion, Obasanjo attributed his success in life to the loyalty of his aides, adding that without them he would not have achieved much.
He regretted the demise of his parents early in life, saying he would have loved that his parents lived to see how great God had been in his life.
