Dr Kayode Fayemi Wins Ekiti APC Governorship Primary

The Minister of Mines and Solid Minerals, Dr Kayode Fayemi has won the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State.


Fayemi who was the former governor polled a total of 941 votes to beat 32 other aspirants while Segun Oni scored 481 votes and Kayode Ojo polled 281 votes.


The total number of delegates was 2337 while 2313 were total valid votes.


Declaring Fayemi as the winner, the Chairman of the Ekiti State Governorship Primary Election Committee, Governor Tanko Al-Makura, said that the former governor scored the highest number of votes and satisfied all requirements.


Al-Mankura thanked contestants and security agents and delegates for cooperating with the committee to make the exercise a success.
