EFCC, ICPC To Investigate Babachir, Oke
Following the sack of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir Lawal and the former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke, the EFCC and ICPC will begin to investigate the alleged fraud against them.
Six months after they were suspended, President Muhammadu Buhari finally sacked them on Monday as the presidency announced that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences to prosecute the ex-public officers.
In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the presidency said that the government would follow the rule of law and ensure that the sacked men were prosecuted by the anti-graft agencies.
Commission, ICPC, will go ahead to exhaustively investigate the sacked Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal and former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ambassador Ayo Oke.
Malam Shehu said that for those who had asked what next after Babachir and Oke were axed from their positions, that the President has taken the administrative action.
He said that now that the president had taken administrative action, the EFCC and ICPC are expected to begin their investigation.
