EFCC To Reopen Fayose’s N1.3billion Poultry Scandal
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC will be reopening the N1.3billion Ekiti Integrated Poultry Project/Biological concepts Limited fraud allegedly committed by Governor Ayodele Fayose.
In a tweet by the commission, the anti-graft agency said that the immunity clause for Fayose would soon be over in about three months when it would open the case file.
Fayose was alleged to have committed the poultry fraud in his first tenure as the Ekiti State Governor between 2003 and 2006.
He was subsequently impeached and prosecuted. However, the governor came back about four years ago, making the Commission to stop the prosecution due to immunity clause.
The tweet read, “The parri (party) is over; the cloak of immunity torn apart and the staff broken.”
The tweet has since been deleted by the agency, following loads of comments that hit the handle earlier this morning.
Fayose’s candidate in Saturday Ekiti gubernatorial election, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka lost the election to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
