Ekiti Election: PDP Heads To Election Tribunal
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be challenging the outcome of the Ekiti State Governorship election at the tribunal.
The party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan said that the PDP had rejected the results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
According to the statement, PDP alleged that the election was marred by various malpractices, including outright change of scores at the polling booths.
It said that many of the results declared by INEC from the 16 local governments were different from what the PDP party agents reported.
Ologbondiyan said that the party would definitely challenge the authenticity of the results at the election tribunal.
He alleged that the INEC, the law enforcement agents and the APC deliberately connived to rig out the PDP candidate and write fake results to favour the APC candidate.
Meanwhile, an investigation has revealed that both parties actually induced the electorate and that APC won the election because it was able to outrig PDP.
While the PDP is preparing to file a petition to the tribunal, the governor-elect has been receiving congratulatory messages from other APC governors, including that of Lagos, Mr Akinwunmi Amobode.
Akinwunmi described the victory of Fayemi as well deserved.
