Ekweremadu: Hunted By What He Created
Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu was attacked by some Igbo people at the second Igbo Annual Cultural And Convention in Nuremberg Germany.
The mob, according to reports were the enraged members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
They were ready to tear Ekweremadu’s clothes but the organisers and security operatives rescued him from the angry mobs.
The IPOB members also sent warnings to the Governor of Anambra, Willie Obiano that he should not visit Germany because his safety could not be guaranteed.

It is a big shame indeed that a former Deputy Senate President could be attacked by his own Kinsmen. This is coming just a few hours that the Government of Germany will be repatriating scores of illegal Nigerian migrants.
The attack on Ekweremadu may not be unconnected to the mass repatriation of some Nigerians living in Germany starting from today.
Many of them had claimed to be on asylum in Germany but detailed investigations had shown that they belonged to IPOB.
In Nigeria, IPOB is regarded as a terrorist group but most Igbo leaders, including Ekweremadu, were the first to kick against this declaration.
The attack on Ekweremadu in Germany may not be an act of terrorism. It is a clear indicator of hooliganism, which the politicians in Nigeria created to retain their positions.
The mob were also protesting the killings in the southeast by the alleged herdsmen. Recalled that Boko Haram grew out of political thuggery and hooliganism. Most IPOB members in Nigeria are youths who engage in thuggery to survive.
It is not surprising that some of them who now hide in foreign lands as asylum seekers cannot change their attitude anymore.
Some of those who live in foreign lands have no job. These politicians assisted them to leave Nigeria to escape from the law. Ekweremadu actually assisted the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu to secure bail.
Kanu is now a fugitive. He jumped bail because his sureties could not provide him when the court needed him.
It is a case of nemesis on these politicians whom themselves are seeking a place of solace after they have turned Nigeria to the den of banditry and kidnappers.
While it is unwelcome to waylay Nigerian leaders abroad, the current development is a signal that soon there will be no hiding place for the political elites anymore.
There is a better security system in Germany and other parts of Europe, yet there is more freedom for people to exercise their fundamental rights.
Corrupt politicians in Nigeria may find it difficult to move freely in Europe and America if Nigerians in the diaspora decide to rise against them over there.
The number of jobless Nigerians abroad is on the increase. Of course, they will find it difficult to misbehave over there due to tighter security, it is a bigger risk for those who are abroad doing legitimate businesses.
