“Emmanuel Edet Ikot, Ubong Udong, Bright Effiong Okon, Okon Ita” ARRESTED FOR  TRADING IN HUMAN PARTS IN AKWA IBOM

Four teenagers have been apprehended in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State as they went in search of a buyer for a human skull in their possession.

Delia Nwawe, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Akwa Ibom State police command said that the suspects were arrested by men of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), after a tip off by some youths in the area.

The four suspects are Emmanuel Edet Ikot, who is allegedly the leader of the group, Ubong Udong aged 18 from Oron, Bright Effiong Okon aged 19 from Orukim in Mbo LGA and Okon Ita aged 20 also from Orukim.

Emmanuel denied the accusation leveled against them and stated that he saw the human skull while working at an uncompleted building where he was paid to cut grass.

He further stated that in the course of the job, he stumbled across the skull and notified his friends and they decided to sell the skull.

On their way to a native doctor, they were set upon by some youths of the local government who detained them and called the police who arrested them.

They are now in police custody awaiting a date in court where they will be tried for trading in human parts.
