Ex-Kaduna Governor ‘Ramalan Yero’ Remanded Over Money Laundering
The Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has ordered the remand of Ex-Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero over alleged money laundering.
The trial judge, Justice Muhammed Shuibu of the federal high court ordered that the governor and three others be remanded in prison custody this morning pending the hearing on their bail application.
The judge adjourned the case to 6th June 2018 to hear bail application.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had arraigned Ramalan Yero and three others on a four-count charge of money laundering and bribery.
This is coming less than 24 hours that the High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja handed 14 years jail term to the former Governor of Taraba State, Reverend Jolly Nyame.
Trial judge justice Adebukola Banjoko delivering judgment on the 11 years old trial said she cannot help but hand down the maximum sentence after finding the defendant guilty of allegations of fraud, criminal breach of trust amongst others.
