Nigeria News – Fani-Kayode Reveals Why Over 150 Police Officers Ran Away From Counter-Insurgency Training Exercise

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation has disclosed why over 150 police officers ran away from their counter-insurgency training exercise in the northeast, Nigeria.

The former Minister, writing on his Twitter Page said the officers ran away because 88% were southerners and 91% were Christian.

Femi Fani-Kayode stated, “Out of the 167 “runaway policemen” that were assigned to fight Boko Haram, 91% were Christian and 88% were southerners. Can you blame them for running?

“No matter how many Christmas carols he sings, Buhari’s ethnic and religious agenda is becoming more obvious by the day,” Femi Fani-Kayode stated.

Nevertheless, the Nigerian military has provided a clear explanation on a news report that more than 150 among the 2000 Policemen deployed to fight Boko Haram insurgents in the North East, ran away from their counter-insurgency military training exercise.

The Coordinator, Nigeria Police Force for Operation Lafiya-Dole (NPFOLD),
Brigadier-General A. S. Ishaq in a chat with PRNigeria, said there was nothing like Policemen absconding, but just a case of some recalcitrant personnel leaving their training base for a reason which was not cogent.

Brigadier-General also stated that the special training, which should have been concluded last Friday, was extended for one week, before they depart the camp, to enable the Policemen to participate in all the requisite military combat exercises.
