The federal government has just declared three days of public holiday to mark the Christmas and new year celebrations.
Monday 26 and Tuesday, 27 December 2016, have been declared as public holidays to mark the Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations.
Similarly, Monday, January 2, 2017 has also been marked as a public holiday to usher in the New Year.
Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, the acting permanent secretary in the Ministry of Interior signed a statement on behalf of the Minister, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau who made the declaration and called on all Christians in the country to remain committed and supportive of the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, in his sustained efforts towards building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
He ended by wishing all Nigerians at home and abroad, a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year 2017.
