Fernando Torres Leaves Hospital After Horrific Head Clash
Atletico Madrid striker, Fernando Torres, has just left hospital after suffering a head injury after a clash with Alex Bergantinos of Deportivo la Coruna during their La Liga match yesterday which ended 1-1.
In a moment of shock for both players and officials on the pitch, the former Liverpool striker went for a 50-50 contest with Bergantinos in the 85th minute of their tie and he came of worse as his coach stated that he heard the sound of the clash from his spot on the sidelines.
Torres had to be treated on the pitch for almost 5 minutes as details reveal he was knocked cold unconscious and it had to take the quick thinking of his team mate especially Gabi who had to make sure he didn’t swallow his tongue.
After treatment on the pitch, Torres was carries on a stretcher into a waiting ambulance and straight to hospital.
His club released a statement after the incident that he spent a good night in hospital and has undergone an MRI scan.
The outpouring of support has been massive with his former clubs and even players from rivals Real Madrid reaching out and sending messages of support to the striker.
