Fuel Scarcity: Vice President Osinbajo Monitors Sales At Filling Stations
As fuel scarcity refuses to subside despite the supply by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, (SAN) paid surprise visits to some filling stations.
Perhaps as a way of checking the saboteurs, Osinbajo was in Lagos Sunday evening to monitor the selling of the Premium Motor Spirit by some filling stations.
The Vice President visited Oando by Elegushi and Heyden Petroleum by Victoria Garden City VGC on the Island In Lagos State.
Speaking to residents in the queue at the filling stations, Osinbajo assured that the fuel scarcity is temporary and that citizens will see it no more as NNPC makes more supply across the country.
The Federal Government had blamed the scarcity on the oil marketers who are hoarding fuel.
President Muhammadu Buhari has also apologized to Nigerians over the scarcity, adding that he had directed NNPC to ensure adequate supply at filling stations across the country.
Many Nigerians slept at the petrol stations in the last two days. Fuel is sold between N250 and N400 per litre in the black market.
At filling stations, it is sold between N170 and N200.
