Go Back To Osinbajo, Buhari Tells Govt Official
Facts emerged on Wednesday how President Muhammadu Buhari turned back a government official who had brought some documents to him abroad to go back to the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
This was revealed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, adding that nobody in government would ever undermine the powers of Osinbajo.
Shehu said in an interview on Channels Television’s programme, Sunrise Daily that the government official (Names withheld) had visited Buhari in London but was asked to go back to Osinbajo who is in charge of government at present.
Shehu said that Buhari had transferred power to Osinbajo and if those officials could really understand the constitution of Nigeria and they want to keep their job, they dare not joke with the acting president.
“It is not true that ministers are going to the United Kingdom and are reporting to the President,” he said.
He spoke on some ministers being loyal to Buhari than Osinbajo, saying that the loyalty should be for the government being led on the duo ticket of Buhari/Osinbajo.
According to him, any official that flouts the acting president orders now is liable to fine.
Buhari told the official to go back to Abuja that the man responsible for governance is in Nigeria not London.
He explained that Buhari had not been giving directives on how to govern the country, adding, “He is not a leader that divides the government. He has transferred power to his vice and that is it.”
