Grammy’s 2017: Adele Sweeps 5 Awards As Biggest Winner of The Night
British singer, Adele was the biggest winner of the night in the just concluded 59th edition of the annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
She won the top three categories of the night namely, Best Album, Best Record, and Best Song – for her hit song, Hello and her album 25.
Beyonce picked up two awards out of the nine she was nominated for but she wowed the audience with her edge of the seat performance and her costume which got tongues wagging.
Adele also gave a tribute to Beyonce while receiving her plaque for Album of the Year, calling her the artist of her life.
She divided the plaque and gave the second half to Beyonce saying she also deserved the award for her album lemonade.
Adele’s other two awards were won in the Best Pop Solo Performance for the same song Hello and also Best Pop Vocal Album for her album 25.
Beyonce herself had a powerful performance on stage which was laden with effects even as her outfit was styled like “Oshun”, the Yoruba goddess of water, fertility, motherhood and the passing of the generations.
