Gunmen Kill Family of Four

A family of four people have been killed by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen in Kai Village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command DSP Terna Tyopev, on Thursday in Jos.

According to the police PRO, one Mr Maren Mahan reported the incident to the division that the herdsmen had killed four members of a family.

The PPRO identified one of the victims as John Mangai, 10, Christian Mangai, 15, Mangai Agwom, 46 and Dauda Mahan, 54.

“On receipt of this information, a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the division visited the scene of the crime for an on-the-spot assessment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the police had removed the bodies of the victims and deposited it to the mortuary of General Hospital, Barkin.

Tyopev said investigations to track the perpetrators were ongoing.
