Gunmen Ravage Ekiti As Opeyemi Bamidele Sustains Injury
The former member of the House of Representatives from Ekiti State, Mr Opeyemi Bamidele is currently receiving treatment in hospital after he was shot by hoodlums in the state on Friday.
Opeyemi was in the entourage of the state All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi when the hoodlums attacked him.
The convoy had entered Ekiti, following the resignation of Fayemi as the Minister of Solid Minerals and Steel Development from President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.
According to findings, the gunmen suspected to be supporters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti attacked the Fayemi’s convoy and shot at it.
Bamidele, who was the former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State, was hit by the bullet. He was quickly rushed to the hospital.
Investigations show that he is in stable condition. Besides, Bamidele, reports showed that some of the supporters of APC were wounded by the hoodlums.
