Heavy Downpour Throws Lagos-Badagry Expressway Into Heavy Traffic
Lagos – Badagry Expressway has been thrown into deplorable situation after the heavy downpour at the weekend.
Our correspondent who visited the place this morning observed vehicles plying one way due to bad roads and many commuters stranded on the road.
As at 8:28 am when our correspondent visited the place, the traffic was heavy while part of the road was covered with the flood.
Motorists called on the Federal and Lagos State Government to come to their aid and repair the road, which had since become a nightmare for residents and commuters in the area.
At Area k command of the Nigeria police force, the frontage is seriously bad as vehicles plying one way including security agents. The traffic police are helpless.
The popular Oko-Afo Bus Stop along Badagry Expressway is blocked, leaving the motorists in the flood.
A car owner told our correspondent that he decided to take one way because he had been in the traffic for four hours.
He said that it was not advisable to take the normal route because some vehicles had plunged into the deep pothole on the road and that the expressway had been blocked.
