Herdsmen Behead Farmer In Iseyin, Oyo State
Tragedy struck in the ancient town of Iseyin at the weekend as herdsmen beheaded a farmer, simply know as Mustapha aka Baba jeje in his farm.
The President-General of Agbekoyas Worldwide, Kamoru Okiki Aremu told our correspondent that the herdsmen also injured one of the children of the deceased.
According to Aremu, the gentle farmer had gone to his farm but found out that many of his crops had been destroyed by the cattle.
He said that “Baba Jeje” had to raise the alarm and vowed to report the case to the police so that the herdsmen could pay him compensation.
“He was not allowed to leave the farm as they beheaded him. His son who came to stop them from attacking his father was also stabbed with the knife,” Aremu said.
The Agbekoya, however, had called on the state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi and the Oyo State Police Command to apprehend and prosecute the killers or else it would launch a reprisal attack on the herdsmen.
He said that the Agbekoya could defend the farmers but did not want to take laws into its hands.
“So we call on the authorities to arrest these killers,” he said.
