Herdsmen Kill 30 In Taraba, Benue States
Herdsmen have killed about 30 persons in Taraba and Benue States since Wednesday, our correspondent has gathered.
According to findings the herdsmen invaded Jandeikyula village in the Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State and killed 25 persons.
This happened, despite the presence of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, in the state.
In Benue, the number of death increased to 15 within 48 hours when the herdsmen, having killed 10 persons in the Logo and Ukum local government areas of Benue State on Tuesday, went ahead to kill another five on Thursday in the area.
The Special Adviser to Governor Darius Ishaku on Students Affairs, Mr Samson Tor-Musa, confirmed the killing of 25 people.
According to him, there are some people in the state who are bent on frustrating the effort of the government to curb the menace of the herdsmen.
In Benue, the herdsmen invaded the village at Igbougher Mbavuur and Tse-Ward communities in Logo LGA and killed three people while two persons died in Agboughul, a suburb of Makurdi, the state capital.
A 70-year-old woman, identified as Mama Uhaen Ndiisaa, the mother of a former Logo LGA chairman, Mr Terhemen Ndiisaa, was among the injured victims of the latest attack in Logo.
