Imo Governorship: When Voice of Law And Voice of God Meet
ElevateNews takes a look at the meeting point of priest’s prophecy and judges’ verdict on Imo governorship judgment.
The Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka’s prophecy of hope on the new governor, Hope Uzodinma is too accurate to believe.
Mbaka spoke during the cross over service on December 31, 2019, with too much of conviction and authority about a prophecy that came to pass 14 days after. Of course, the voice of God is direct and his words like a two edges swords piercing to the marrow.
Mbaka’s prophecy is a miracle because no man ever expected that the APC candidate, who was fourth on the log could become the first as he was declared the elected-governor after the Supreme Court judgement.
The votes in over 300 polling units that were never counted by the Independent National Electoral Commission became the winning formula for APC at the Supreme Court.
The Peoples Democratic Party candidate and the sacked Governor Emeka Ihedioha were devastated by the Supreme Court judgement and being the final verdict, the former deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives had to quit the Imo State House immediately.
But before the judgement, there was a voice from the altar, which the politicians, including Ihedioha, made a mockery of. The politicians said that Mbaka must have drunk some alcohol, adding that if there would be a change in government at all in Imo, it would not be Uzodinma who only polled about 96, 000 votes and the number four on the log.
Mbaka has claimed to have heard from God but with the turn of events, I doubt if there are no human powers that also work with the priest. His prophecy came like a verdict as confirmed by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
He said in his prophecy that hope would come to Imo and a government that will bring prosperity to the State would be declared.
But let us take a look at the standing before the Supreme Court verdict that made the PDP candidate Emeka Ihedioha to win both at the election petition tribunal and the appellate court.
After the governorship poll, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared Ihedioha winner for polling the highest number of 273,404 votes.
AA candidate, Uche Nwosu who is also the in-law to the former Governor Rochas Okorocha polled 190,364; APGA candidate, Ifeanyi Araraume polled 114,676; APC candidate Senator Hope Uzodinma polled 96,458 while YPP: Ikedi Ohakim polled 527.
How Uzodinma won at the Supreme was based on law and nothing can be done about that since the verdict came from the apex court but this is a slap on our bad electoral process.
As Professor Oyebode put it, the Supreme Court judgement on Imo gubernatorial election shows the poverty in our electoral process.
For Father Mbaka, it is not only victory for Uzodinma but also for the church of God where the prophecy had first given the verdict of hope.
