I’ve Been Denied Food, Access To My Lawyer – Dino Melaye Laments
Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West has cried out from the national hospital Abuja that the police has denied him food, water and access to receive his family members.
The senator tweeted early this morning, adding that his lawyer was also denied access to him as he continues to get treatment for the injury he sustained while he jumped from the police van.
Melaye was arrested by the police the Special Anti-Robbery Squad on Tuesday. He was being taken to Lokoja, the Kogi State capital on the same day but jumped down from the moving police van and injured himself.
It was gathered that two Hilux vans had waylaid the police vehicle to free Melaye from the policemen and was taken to a private hospital.
The policemen, however, traced Melaye to the hospital where he was rearrested and taken to the national hospital, Abuja.
He is presently at the Trauma and Intensive Care Unit of the hospital where he wrote this morning that he was being denied food and water.
On Wednesday, President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki led some principal officers of the Senate and other colleagues to see Melaye in the hospital.
